To the reports:A's (6-1) v SPOC A (1-6) - Written by Mike - A's played against Saints and finally had their full line up, Jack making a return from injury and Corey making a return from... Work? Saints had no height aside from Bobo who normally sees time in the B's*. Their shooters actually showed a little promise for once and actually made a few long shots to "keep it competitive". Orken threw down a monstrous transition dunk and Foo couldn't be stopped inside yet again. It was nice of Saints to rock up so Mike wasn't obviously the worst player on the court. Win 71-46. Foo 23, Orks 19, Liam 10
*Palk note - he has been in their A's for 3 years.
B's (1-6) v Gateway A (5-1-1) - Written by Jono - The 'Bs only having five on the weekend but we started off aggressive and promising against Gateway's full squad. With our guards attacking the glass and Angus and Phill cleaning up any rebounds we finished the half only down by 3, 23-26. The second half we dropped off again, just as we did last week against the A's, we weren't getting up shots and we were letting Gateway take easy shots and with that, the game started to slip away. Brendon played with great aggression something we definitely need to see more of from all of our players. The B's are getting there, slowly but surely! Final score 51-36. Brendon and Myself tied with 11 points, Angus with 7, Mitch with 5 and Phil with 2 points but about 15 rebounds!
C's (6-1) v D's (4-3) - In their 3rd matchup - the first time the D's had their Stu/A lineup*. The game score ended up looking like a Sydney postcode 23-17**. Jay got the C's off to an early start with a 3 but there was not much scoring early - the D's played a tight zone and the C's played man which the D's don't handle well - turning the ball over time and time again. Foo the only player to get a basket in the first half for the D's and Goody and Krantz scored inside for the C's. The 2nd half - much the same - terrible reffing, calling travel, carries, offensive fouls - you name a stupid call and they made it. The C's got out to a nice lead with Alex and Lachie hitting jumpers. The D's got it back to 17-18 with a Stu 3, Roughie on the break and Foo breaking down the D. Jay hit a late 3 and Lachie scored inside and that was all she wrote. C's 23-17. Jay 8 and Lachie 5, Stu 9 and Dan 7.
*Interesting stat - this is the first time this team has lost in 2 years when both A and Stu play.
**Which for the record is Solider's Point.
E's (4-3) v St Pauls A (0-4) - Written by Max - Kara started the game on maximum attack with an array of strong moves to the basket. While he was drawing attention inside, this left Miller free on the wing to light up from three point range. The E’s went into the halftime break up 19-8. In the second half Hendo came to play, dominating the offensive boards and getting a number of strong put backs. In a demonstration of smart team basketball the E’s ran out comfortable winners 40-21. Everyone got on the scoresheet, with Kara finishing with 12 in his breakout game, and Hendo tallying 9 points in the second half.
Because it was such a great game we have a second report by Sime - After the disappointment of not quite finding their groove last week, the E’s hit the court against Northgate full of vigour. It was Karamoshos who grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck early with a powerful drive for the first score - it was his best game this year and showed all the things we’d been eagerly awaiting – aggressive, strong and crafty rolled up into a polite package. He pushed on for a 9 point half including a great ‘and-one’. We all followed Kara’s lead, Reggie hitting 8 for the half and the team moving the ball. But the highlight was late in the 1st half, possibly our best play of the year with slick ball movement inside / outside, all 5 touching it & a nice dump off at the end to Kara (I think) under the basket. Northgate were looking from outside a lot, and we did what we needed to chase down the shots & boards – half time was a 19-8 advantage. In the 2nd half, it was Hendo who stepped up – he and Jon had solid first halves with a hand in every contested rebound, then Hendo went even harder in the 2nd and was rewarded with 2 tip ins (incl. one ‘and-one’). His best game of the year too. Northgate had a quality big who kept Jon & Morgan busy, as well as the refs’ whistles, both being ‘allocated’ 4 fouls by midway through the 2nd half (RT – note that I didn’t say you had 4 fouls). They worked hard all day and both got to the line a few times as their reward. Kara became unselfish in the 2nd, giving off to find the guards for open looks, Max was finding his spots for some long 2s. Northgate made a bit of a run in the 2nd half on the back of their big, but a well-timed timeout with 5 to go saw us regroup, push out the margin and run out the game. Final score 40-21, Kara with 12, Hendo with 9 and Reggie with 8.Thanks to Lachie for scoring & for the strong support and guidance from the sideline, is much appreciated.
F's (5-2) v Northgate A (3-1-2) - Written by Moorfoot - Facing off against a reasonably tall and athletic looking new team to the league, the Fs were uncertain what to expect. St Pauls came out strong early but some good passing and team work had us keeping up with them. Cam was swallowing up the boards on both ends and getting put backs, Moorfoot hit 3 of 4 from the stripe (finished 3 of 10 though..) and G hit a nice 3. In the second half, St Paul was moving the ball well and started doing damage inside. Anything that missed though was pulled down by Cam. Tone was looking drive and dish, Charlie had success on his drive and Jimmy dropped a 3. In the end the Reds pulled off a great win in tight back and forth game. Win 32-28 Cam 13, Moorfoot 7 & Jimmy 5
G's (5-2) v Big Sunday C - Written by Reid - The mighty G's had an uphill battle from the start this week. Big Sunday C came out of the blocks strong and won a ten point lead in the first five minutes. We eventually shook off the cobwebs and with some high-intensity play we managed to claw back from an even bigger deficit, to be behind by only 6 with two minutes left. Unfortunately one of their two number 18's just couldn't be controlled and with a few timely steals and more of the ridiculous shooting we'd seen from him all game, they pulled away again. At the end of the day, we had a lot of good opportunities that should have shown on the scoreboard but just didn't drop, while at the same time we couldn't effectively guard number 18 who was able to drive through everything and scored 23 of their 48 points. Lost 36-48 - Reid 13, Matt 11, Rhys 8.
Lady Reds (5-2) v Happy Valley A - Written by Rachel - Great team efforts by Lady Reds on saturday saw everyone contribute to a 40 point win. Strong defensive rebounds meant we took advantage of many fast breaks and well balanced offence when fast breaks were not on offer.

2016 SACBA Week 6 Results
First things first - G's we are not sure where you are playing this week - but it is unlikely going to be at Saints, it will either be at PAC or Mars. We will update you as soon as we know.

A's (5-1) v B's (1-5) - Written by Mike - Yet again, our A's came up against their friendly Rival's the B's. The game started off tight, going score for score, as both teams worked the ball around for open shots, the only thing separating the team's was the A's denial of second opportunities for the B's. The A's weren't shooting at a higher percentage, simply shooting more, Harbouring a single digit lead going into the second half. Then the game got away from the B's. Foo doesn't just look good in a suit*, but also on the court, as he picked off some passes and capitalised on the break. Before anyone knew it, the score blew out to 20+, Mitch making a few threes as a consolation. 54-28
* I saw Foo in a suit in town and didn't say hello because I was wearing track pants and a Pokemon shirt.
C's (5-1) v SPOC (2-4) - Written by Jay The first half in this one was a bit of a grind. Jay and Jamie hit some early 3s, and Goody scored a couple of buckets inside, but Saints were able to hang around to keep the first half close. The first half ended 14-9, and Saints came out and scored the first 5 of the 2nd half to tie it up, and the game had a similar feel to our previous game against them. But like that previous game, we flicked a switch and ran away with it relatively easily in the end. We were looking good moving the ball through the high post, as Goody and Lachy were controlling things and making plays. Final was 34-23 (should’ve been an even bigger margin, but we missed some open looks towards the end). Lachy 9, Goody and Jamie 8.
D's (4-2) v Unley (1-5) - With Roughie away for the weekend and Big A out purchasing a watch, Purge played his first game of the season. Unley started well getting out a quick start ... and then that would be the only thing that was quick about them for the rest of the game. Unley started in a 2-1-2 - we scored inside, they switched to a 3-2, we scored from 3 and then to a man and we scored ... how ever we wanted. Purge said he bumped into Unley at Bunnings yesterday - he took a photo*. Stu hit a couple of early 3's, Thommo was scoring inside, Foo hit a layup and a 3 and Palky hit a couple of 3's - Reds up 23-10 at halftime. The 2nd half was free flowing as Unley switched to a man - but were not picking anyone up in transition or switching when they were beaten off the dribble. Stu, Palky and Foo hit more 3's but it was Future getting to the basket that killed Unley - he was able to beat his man with ease and get to the basket time and time again. Madman hit a couple of late jumpers. After holding Unley to 5 points for the half they scored 12 points in the last 3 minutes. Thommo was awesome on the boards all game - as our lone big he had to battle 2 Unley bigs and he did a great job. D's won 55-27. Foo had his Old Reds high with 16, Palk with 16 and Stu with 15.

E's (3-3) v Blackwood A (2-3) - Written by Max - Already with a win against Blackwood earlier in the year and coming off a couple of good weeks, the E’s went into the game full of confidence. Our offence looked rushed though, trying to do too much with the first 1 or 2 passes. This resulted in a number of turnovers and contested shots. Meanwhile the much younger Blackwood team were doing well on the defensive boards and beating us down the court to create opportunities on transition. Fortunately their shooting was off as well and they carried a 19-18 lead at half time. Highlights were a Miller 3 pointer and a couple of nice moves to the basket by Morgan. The second half was a real grind with neither team able to regularly score. Blackwood eked out a 6 point lead which felt formidable. Mike Tye was our only player to score a field goal in the second half, popping in a couple of sweet little jumpers and winding up for a big 3 pointer as well. The E’s thought they could outrun Blackwood with a deep bench but with a continually changing lineup could never find their rhythm. The last part of the game got quite physical with their #30 throwing his weight around with a couple of hard fouls. In the end Blackwood held on to win 31-26, Tye had 9 points and Miller
had 6.
F's (4-2) v Knightsbridge A (5-1) - Written by Moorfoot - The F’s (minus our fearless leader) faced off against Justin Bieber’s Knightsbridge in what would be a physical and spiteful game. Moorfoot opened the account with seven straight points, including a nice and one. Knightsbridge were moving the ball and kept in it with some outside shots. Tone was then hit from behind by Mr Bieber himself which then prompted a shove back from an un-named teammate. After several sharply worded exchanges, the Reds settled themselves with a timeout and came back out to play basketball. Cam and B-Rad were working hard on the glass as always, while Charlie was getting good looks on the drive – the only thing letting us down was unforced turnovers. Reds in front 15-14. The second half saw Jimmy finding his range from three-point territory with a couple in quick succession, finishing with three for the half. Tone also joined in, dropping a trey of his own. There was plenty of contact in the paint and our bigs were taking a lot of it uncalled. Knightsbridge kept finding open looks to keep them in front and the turnovers kept us just beyond catching them. Knightsbridge 43 – Fs 39. Moorfoot 16, “Three Games” Jimmy 13, B-Rad 5
G's (5-1) v Saint Peters A (1-1-4) - NO REPORT. Win 22-18, Reid 10, Troy 9.
Lady Reds (4-2) v Trinity A (1-5) - There is a decent gap between the top teams and the bottom teams in the women's grade and the Lady Reds made light work of Trinity. They were able to lock down in D and run teh break nonstop. Tracey And Clare were able to get out on the break and make layup after layup, Alicia shot well from 3 and as a team they moved the ball well. Everyone contributed - Hannah worked tirelessly on the boards and ran super hard in both directions. Reds won 54-16. Alicia 19, Tracey 16, Rachel 7.
Palky's Player of the Week - Week 6: He is the future of the D's old man squad, he hit 3's, drove the lane with ease and scored his career high with the Reds with 16 points - Dan Foo.

2016 SACBA Week 5 Results
I wrote this on the FB page but for those not on FB, this is a little thing I wrote prior to my 600th game on Monday.
MILESTONE: Tonight I will play my 600th game ... huzzah*!
Most of the time I do a rundown of things the milestoner has achieved but no need to do that in this case. I will however write a paragraph or 2 ... or 3 ... or 4.
I would like to start by saying that in my time in the club there has never been anyone that I have actually disliked - sure some guys piss me off - but no one I haven't liked. If you think about that we are really lucky to have such a great group.
The club has been a constant in my adult life, as it has for many of you. It is always there and there is always some 3 pointers to be made. It has been great growing into adulthood - seeing guys finish uni, get their first jobs, get married, have kids and have some major successes. Guys come and go - it is always sad to see people leave - but the club is always going to be here and when they come back ... the club is always here for them.
It is great having been one of the younger guys getting supported by the older lads, then being one of the late 20/30 year old players supporting the club and helping it grow and now I really appreciate being one of the 3 or 4 oldest guys in the club supporting the young lads on and off the court.
The lads stepping up to help G run the club is really good to see and G is doing a really good job. The role is a demanding one but I think he doing an important job and he will start putting his stamp on things in the years to come. The club is in a transition stage and I think the next 2 or 3 years are probably as vital as the first 2 or 3 years when it got started all those years ago.
Some of my fondest memories are times playing and supporting the teams in the club – I could list off 100 things off the top of my head, all the fun moments, close games, finals wins, Intercol wins, big shots, big plays – not just games I was in but games you were all in. I can't believe all the things I have managed to achieve in this club - a short, tubby, unathletic, unfit, spectacled player with one discernible skill - it has been fun.
I'm not sure I will get to 700 games as the old legs are starting to run out of steam ... so I am just going to enjoy the time I have left playing and drinking with all of you.
NOTE - Saint Peters have now extended their school ball to 1.30 - so we are losing the stadium at the 1.00pm timeslot. This means that there is going to need to be a change and at this stage we don't know what that change with be. For this week ... the A's and B's will need to move from 1.00 to 1.50 pm the game will be at Immanuel College on Court 2.

A's (4-1-0) v Gateway A (3-2) - Written by Mick - After a reasonably slow start, a timeout by Jack had the message of "run". So that's what the A's did, as they ran away with the game. With a buzzer beater 3 by Liam, putting them up 9 at halftime. The second half stayed relatively even, A's keeping a healthy gap on the scoreboard. But the refs had felt left out, and decided to be part of the game, a push + moving screen by Gateway got turned into an unsportsmanlike foul on Phil. Then a trip at halfway wasn't an unsportsmanlike, but a foul without a clear pass was. 2 people tackling Orken whilst people swore in his face was only the original unsportsmanlike and 1 additional tech, Lachlan intentionally fouling wasn't unsportsmanlike, yet his genuine defence later was. Bear hugging also not unsportsmanlike.A's finished off the game with a 12 point win, but the last 10 minutes was barely played. Most influential player Peter May (ref). A's did well to mostly keep their heads, but still have room for improvement. We are all aware of the capabilities some refs have to alter a game, and as a club need to know to just get on with the game, keep a clear head, and play it out.
Jack texted and said it was one of the most satisying wins that he has been involved in.
B's (1-4) v SPOC A (1-4) - The B's won their first game for the season and they move up into 3rd place. So in this clip Saints are Nicholas Cage ... and well ... the B's are the bees. NOT THE B'SSSSSSSS!
Written by Jono - WE WON!!!! Saturday was the B's first win of the 2016 season and oh was it joyous. Not only was it against saints but the night before a Saints player said "you will never beat us" and well we did! Unfortunately due to terrible traffic and definitely not waking up late I was 10 minutes late to the game but the B's were even with Saints when I ran through the doors. From what I heard Alex lit it up real early with two long 2s and a 3, Phil was being a great presents inside and getting a couple buckets and Mitch and Brendan hitting a few shots. Throughout the game the B's kept their heads and played strong defence and a calm yet aggressive offence taking great shots not just good ones. We were pushing the break and our movement on the court was good. The 2nd half saw the B's attacking hard but still getting back and playing strong defence. Phill was still scoring inside, Jon was getting on the ring and Mitch drained a 3. It wasn't until about 4 minutes to go that I actually realised we were winning and the game was well within our reach, the last couple minutes were tense as the B's had hold of our first win but we kept our composure and took the win with 7 points to spare! Overall great game by all! Win 39-32. Brendon had 10, Kirkham 8 and Alex Mitchell 7.
C's (4-1) v Unley Park A (1-4) - Written by Jay - An early start and a change in venue had a couple of people late to the tip, but Alex and Jamie were there to make sure we didn’t get off to a bad start. Alex hit a crazy layup and then four straight deep jumpers (toe on the line on all of them!). Jamie also knocked down two big 3s to help us get out to a 29-20 halftime lead. In the second half, we were moving the ball well and Krantz was cleaning up down low. We kept Unley at arm’s length and then chewed up time late, with Jamie hitting a couple more 3s to seal the deal in a good win. Final score 52-37. Jamie with 13, Alex 10, Jay 9.
D's (3-2) v SPOC B (2-3) - D's were down A and Saints were down ... who knows ... they have a different team every week - let's just say they were missing 4 or 5 of their best players. Game started ok - we were getting great looks and getting scores at the basket (the man who is good at layups got some layups). Dan "Future" Foo got to the line a couple of times and Palky hit a 3. Reds up 15-6 at half time. 2nd half we got up 24-10 and then let Saints get on a 10-0 run with Stu on the bench. With 5 to go Future got a crazy coast to coast layup with a tough finish at the basket, Palk scored a couple of fast break layups. For some reason, Saints took off their best player with 5 minutes to go when the game was on the line ... all 7 of us were all looking at each other asking "what are they doing?" ... they did not appear to notice that was what they were doing - its like they have never watched basketball before. Stu scored 5 points in the closing 30 seconds and D's won 33-20 in a scrappy game. Stu had 16, Palk 10 and Future 5.
E's (3-2) v Taperoo A (1-1-3) - Written by Max - The E’s were expecting a bruising encounter against Taperoo, though the worst it got was when Kobe was called a ‘blouse’. We got off to a quick start with unselfish team play finding Road Train and Morgan close to the hoop for easy scores. The E’s had their full 8 player lineup for the first time this season and made the most if it with subs every couple of minutes. Fresh legs resulted in a couple of easy transition baskets. Miller knocked down a 3 pointer and Max had his foot on the line for a long 2, while Kobe thrilled everyone with a reverse layup. Meanwhile at the other end the E’s defense around the key was tight forcing Taperoo into contested outside shots. The E’s halftime lead was a comfortable 10 points. The second half saw Taperoo come out in a half court man defence which surprised the E’s and resulted in a couple of sloppy turnovers. Poor communication also cost the E’s a couple of easy baskets. We steadied though making buckets when required and only letting Taperoo get within 6 points late in the game. The E’s came out winners 40-32. Morgan had 12 points and Miller had 8, with 7 of 8 players scoring in a balanced effort.
F's (4-1) v Big Sunday A (1-4) - Written by G - Big Sunday were missing a few players, but still had their Silver Fox that hurt us last time. Game was tight with us being able to pull ahead a bit. G got hot in the 2nd half hitting five 3s in a row. Silver Fox pushed B-rad out of bounds with the ball. To save the ball B-rad threw the ball back in over his shoulder. Hit Silver Fox in the face. Silver Fox took offence and accused B-rad of doing it on purpose. G said maybe if you didn't push him it wouldn't have happened. Silver Fox said why don't you let someone else shoot. G and B-rad laugh. Silver Fox doesn't get the game of basketball. F's won 40-31. G had 18, Brad 10, Jimmy 8.
G's (4-1) v Spicer A (2-1-2) - Written by Lachie - The G's were good, they ran the break out of D boards well, and in half court offense they swung the ball around patiently until they got a good look. Probably need to be willing to take more jump shots since they get open enough for them and they have Matt to clean up the boards (which he does well). They also rotated pretty well in D. Only criticism (constructive, I hope) is that when someone starts lighting up from the 3, gotta keep the wing defender real close to him and count on your center to stop the drives. Also, the G's held Spicer scoreless for the first quarter.
Lady Reds (3-2) v CityReach A (4-1) - CityReach are arguably the best team in A Grade this year and this would be a good test for the girls. With a couple of girls out Mike's Tess played her first game for the Reds. The 1st half was super scrappy - CR were missing everything and the Reds were scoring inside with Tess cutting through the lane and Alicia hit a 3. Halftime was 13-6. The 2nd half could not have been different - CityReach picked up the pace and started scoring for everywhere - Coach Palk said "let's not guard #32 from 3 - she isn't shooting them" - out of the timeout she hits a 3. CR were making everything - Reds were up 24-20 and then CR went on a 14-0 run. Alicia and Rachel kept it close making 3's and Megan hit a jumper and scored inside. They got the score back to 4 but CR just kept scoring at will - they had 31 for the half. It was a weird game - how can a team score 6 and then score 31? Reds lost 30-37, Tess and Alicia had 8 Rachel had 7. Again, like other weeks - lots of missed layups.

MILESTONE: Tonight I will play my 600th game ... huzzah*!
Most of the time I do a rundown of things the milestoner has achieved but no need to do that in this case. I will however write a paragraph or 2 ... or 3 ... or 4.
I would like to start by saying that in my time in the club there has never been anyone that I have actually disliked - sure some guys piss me off - but no one I haven't liked. If you think about that we are really lucky to have such a great group.
The club has been a constant in my adult life, as it has for many of you. It is always there and there is always some 3 pointers to be made. It has been great growing into adulthood - seeing guys finish uni, get their first jobs, get married, have kids and have some major successes. Guys come and go - it is always sad to see people leave - but the club is always going to be here and when they come back ... the club is always here for them.
It is great having been one of the younger guys getting supported by the older lads, then being one of the late 20/30 year old players supporting the club and helping it grow and now I really appreciate being one of the 3 or 4 oldest guys in the club supporting the young lads on and off the court.
The lads stepping up to help G run the club is really good to see and G is doing a really good job. The role is a demanding one but I think he doing an important job and he will start putting his stamp on things in the years to come. The club is in a transition stage and I think the next 2 or 3 years are probably as vital as the first 2 or 3 years when it got started all those years ago.
Some of my fondest memories are times playing and supporting the teams in the club – I could list off 100 things off the top of my head, all the fun moments, close games, finals wins, Intercol wins, big shots, big plays – not just games I was in but games you were all in. I can't believe all the things I have managed to achieve in this club - a short, tubby, unathletic, unfit, spectacled player with one discernible skill - it has been fun.
I'm not sure I will get to 700 games as the old legs are starting to run out of steam ... so I am just going to enjoy the time I have left playing and drinking with all of you.
NOTE - Saint Peters have now extended their school ball to 1.30 - so we are losing the stadium at the 1.00pm timeslot. This means that there is going to need to be a change and at this stage we don't know what that change with be. For this week ... the A's and B's will need to move from 1.00 to 1.50 pm the game will be at Immanuel College on Court 2.

A's (4-1-0) v Gateway A (3-2) - Written by Mick - After a reasonably slow start, a timeout by Jack had the message of "run". So that's what the A's did, as they ran away with the game. With a buzzer beater 3 by Liam, putting them up 9 at halftime. The second half stayed relatively even, A's keeping a healthy gap on the scoreboard. But the refs had felt left out, and decided to be part of the game, a push + moving screen by Gateway got turned into an unsportsmanlike foul on Phil. Then a trip at halfway wasn't an unsportsmanlike, but a foul without a clear pass was. 2 people tackling Orken whilst people swore in his face was only the original unsportsmanlike and 1 additional tech, Lachlan intentionally fouling wasn't unsportsmanlike, yet his genuine defence later was. Bear hugging also not unsportsmanlike.A's finished off the game with a 12 point win, but the last 10 minutes was barely played. Most influential player Peter May (ref). A's did well to mostly keep their heads, but still have room for improvement. We are all aware of the capabilities some refs have to alter a game, and as a club need to know to just get on with the game, keep a clear head, and play it out.
Jack texted and said it was one of the most satisying wins that he has been involved in.
B's (1-4) v SPOC A (1-4) - The B's won their first game for the season and they move up into 3rd place. So in this clip Saints are Nicholas Cage ... and well ... the B's are the bees. NOT THE B'SSSSSSSS!
Written by Jono - WE WON!!!! Saturday was the B's first win of the 2016 season and oh was it joyous. Not only was it against saints but the night before a Saints player said "you will never beat us" and well we did! Unfortunately due to terrible traffic and definitely not waking up late I was 10 minutes late to the game but the B's were even with Saints when I ran through the doors. From what I heard Alex lit it up real early with two long 2s and a 3, Phil was being a great presents inside and getting a couple buckets and Mitch and Brendan hitting a few shots. Throughout the game the B's kept their heads and played strong defence and a calm yet aggressive offence taking great shots not just good ones. We were pushing the break and our movement on the court was good. The 2nd half saw the B's attacking hard but still getting back and playing strong defence. Phill was still scoring inside, Jon was getting on the ring and Mitch drained a 3. It wasn't until about 4 minutes to go that I actually realised we were winning and the game was well within our reach, the last couple minutes were tense as the B's had hold of our first win but we kept our composure and took the win with 7 points to spare! Overall great game by all! Win 39-32. Brendon had 10, Kirkham 8 and Alex Mitchell 7.

2016 SACBA Week 4 Results
Reminder this week - all the Men's teams are at Immanuel.
To the reports:
A's (3-1-0) v SPOC A (1-3) - Written by Mike - A's short of a still injured Jack, a can't hold food down Liam, and a "just the tip" (off his finger) Phil. First game back Corey Gerald (Gaard), and fill in Lachlan Campbell. A's came out again, half asleep, the game quite close for the opening 10 minutes. Then they got some composure, getting out on the break and defeating the Saints' dismal attempt at a man defence. Even Mike getting out on the break, Foo and Orken doing the most damage. After conceding a man was a bad choice, Saints dropped into a zone, only to have Foo and Corey to capitalise from range. Then a moment of magic! A special request at a brothel couldn't get you as spanked as Saints' Toby Yo was to the hands of Foo. "Not sure if they're related, but John, don't spank your kids!" - racist bystander. Second half seemed to follow suit. Saints couldn't stop Orken inside, and the A's went on the break again. Game well over before the final siren. A's 71-51 win. Orks 29, Foo 21, Mike 12.
B's (0-4) v Gateway A (3-1-0) - Written by Jono - The B's started off strong against a full strength Gateway outfit, keeping a small lead for a majority of the first half. We had good movement in offence and our defence was fairly tight. Phill was a strong presence inside allowing Joel and Angus to cut for easy looks. The second half saw Gateway hitting a few more shots and our weaknesses in defence were exploited. Dillon and Tim were shooting well and getting great looks. Joel hit a few threes to keep it close but in the end we went down by 10. B's lost 55-45. Joel had 13, Brendon 10, Dillon 6.
C's (3-1) v D's (2-2) - One of the 1000 derbies these teams are set to play this year - C's were without Goody and D's without Stu. C's started well with Manners and Ned making jumpers - D's turned the ball over a lot and the C's captalised. The scores were kept close with Rougie making a 3 and A making a jumper and scoring inside. Jamie and Alex hit 3's and the C's went in to half time up 15-9. Second half, Lachie took a lot of shot for the C's and made a couple, Jay and Jamie hit 3's. The D's struggled to score without Stu - they had a couple of good looks late to keep the score close but didn't make them and the D's won easy. 29-18. For the C's - Jamie 10, Lachie 6, For the D's - A 7 and Roughie 6.
E's (2-2) v St Pauls (0-1) - Written by Max - The E's faced a new to the league St Paul's team this week. The games started very slowly with both teams scoreless for the first 6 minutes of the game. Morgan then got going on a couple of moves to the basket from the high post and also in transition, finishing with 12 points for the half. The E's defense was tight, with St Pauls staying in the game only due to a couple of lucky off balance shots. At half time the E's led 18-10. In the second half the E's punished St Pauls for their sloppy ball handling, forcing turnovers and allowing Miller and Max to get out on the fast break. Mike Tye showed his skills in the half court game, weaving his way to finish at the basket with a couple of sweet layups. The E's ran out winners 49-30, Morgan had 16, Max had 11 and Tye had 9.
F's (3-1) v Northgate A (3-1-0) - Written by G - Only had 5, couldn't counter their athletic big man. Made them play to our pace as much as possible. It was close but couldn't quite match them in the end. F's lost 34-39. Brad 12, G 10, JT and Charlie 6.
G's (3-1) v Burnside A (3-1) - NO REPORT. Lost by 11.
Lady Reds (3-1) v St Casmir (2-2) - A slow start with a few missed jumpers as St Casmir kept the lane clogged. The Reds started to run and get out on the break with Hannah, Tracey and Clare R socring on the break. Claire O'Buckets was able to get to the line and score inside, Reds up 20-5 at halftime. The 2nd half was more running and more scoring - Clare R was getting out on the break and scoring, and the Reds picked St Casmir apart. Hannah and Claire O were too tall inside and When Alicia hit a late 3 the Reds won 40-11. O'Buckets with 11, Clare 10, Megan and Rach 5.
Palky's Player of the Week - Week 4 - Easy one this week, the tallest and sexiest man in the basketball club - Josh Orken.
